The Men's Captain's Choice Golf outing will be held on Saturday, May 16, at the Country Club of Wakefield Plantation Sports Club located at 3350 Canes Way Raleigh, NC 27614. Note this is NOT the main clubhouse where the championship course is located. Please park to the left of the clubhouse.
This will be a 9-hole event on the Sport's Club 9, playing to a par of 33. It features four par-threes, four par-fours, and one par-five. This year's Captain's Choice includes a new twist! Elements of chance will give teams unique advanges or fun challenges to tackle together. It will be a perfect formula for golfers of all skill levels to participate. Check-in at 8:30am with a shotgun start shortly after.
For Wakefield's planning purposes, registration will be first come, first served and will be limited to the first 24 to sign up. It will close on May 8 at noon. After that day, you will need to contact Larry Calhoun (larrymcalhoun@gmail.com) to see if there is space available and to be put on the waitlist. You may also contact Larry with any questions.
The course is a very walker-friendly course. The fees are $40.00 for golf and buffet lunch. Cart fees are $10 per nine.
After golf, we will have lunch in the pool area. The Sports Club snack bar and bar will be open for our lunch. WP only accepts credit cards, no cash. You can also play golf after lunch with no additional green fees, but if you ride, you will need to pay for a cart. Please let Larry know if you are planning on playing golf after lunch, and he will make tee times if WP has availability.
All skill levels of golfers are welcome to play! The event is planned to be a fun fellowship outing.
The dress code for the event will be “Country Club Golf Attire.” See below for more information.
